The card is right there.
Take it.
Your tech finishes the job, builds the invoice on their phone, and takes a real card payment on a Stripe Reader M2 — tap, chip, or swipe. The money settles to your own Stripe account and the invoice marks itself paid before the truck pulls out of the driveway.
Every day you wait
is a day they can change their mind.
The customer is standing right in front of your tech with a wallet in their pocket. That is the cheapest money you will ever collect. Anything that pushes the payment to next week — mailing an invoice, waiting on a check, chasing a portal login — is a collection problem you created yourself.
A real charge, not a note
Most field apps let a tech tick “paid by card” while the money moves on some other reader in the truck. That is a human assertion, not a settled payment. This is the actual charge, with a payment ID your books can reconcile.
One reader, about $59
Order a Stripe Reader M2 from your own Stripe dashboard, one per truck. We don’t sell hardware and we don’t mark it up. Pair it to the tech’s phone over Bluetooth once and it stays paired.
We charge nothing for it
No add-on fee, no per-technician fee, no cut of the transaction. You pay Stripe’s card-present rate on your own connected account — which is cheaper than the keyed-in rate you’re paying today.
Tap, insert, or swipe
Contactless card, phone wallet, chip, or magstripe — the reader takes all four. Your tech sees one screen and one instruction: present the card to the reader.
The invoice closes itself
The charge settles, the webhook fires, the invoice flips to paid, the receipt goes out, and a membership renewal rolls over if that’s what it was. Nobody at the office re-keys anything.
Reader flat? Nothing stops
Battery dead or left in the other truck, and the Card button still offers a texted pay link or a manual record, exactly as before. Tap to Pay is an upgrade on the old flow, never a dependency.
Money collected on site
is money you never chase.
Included in the flat price. No add-on fee, no per-technician reader fee, no second merchant account to reconcile at month end.
